Congratulations received by the President of the Republic on the occasion of Finnish Independence Day

The President of the Republic has received congratulations from many heads of state on the occasion of Finnish Independence Day. For example, President Bill Clinton of the United States and President Vladimir Putin of Russia sent their congratulations. Congratulations from the EU countries included those from French President Jacques Chirac and German Federal President Johannes Rau. The President also received congratulations from many other heads of state, including Bangladesh, China, Mexico, Iceland and Turkey. Pope John Paul II also congratulated the President.
