President Halonen to attend the Olympic Games in Vancouver

President of the Republic Tarja Halonen and Doctor Pentti Arajärvi will travel to Vancouver for the Olympic Winter Games on Sunday, 21 February.

President Halonen will watch Finns competing in different sports. She will also attend the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games and a reception arranged by the Finnish Olympic Committee. The programme includes also a meeting with Finns living in Canada.

President Halonen and Doctor Arajärvi will return to Finland on Tuesday, 2 March together with the Finnish Olympic team.
