President Halonen to attend the UN Summit in New York

President of the Republic Tarja Halonen is to attend the UN Summit in New York on 11-16 September 2005.

The UN Summit will be addressing such issues as the UN Millennium Declaration, the progress made in the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals and other objectives defined by the major United Nations conferences and summits. President Halonen as head of Finnish delegation will be addressing the meeting. She will also give a speech in the World Leaders Forum in the University of Columbia.
