Ukrainian President to visit Finland

The President of Ukraine, Mr Victor Yushchenko, and his wife are to visit Finland on October 25-27, 2006. The official visit will begin on Thursday October 26, when the programme will include welcoming ceremonies and bilateral talks with President of the Republic of Finland Tarja Halonen. President Yushchenko will also meet the Finnish Prime Minister, Mr Matti Vanhanen, and business representatives, visit the Mannerheim Museum and lay a wreath at Hietaniemi Cemetery.

On Friday October 27 President Yushchenko will take part in the EU-Ukraine Summit to be held in Helsinki. During the day he will also visit the Finnish Parliament and Halosenniemi, former studio home of painter Pekka Halonen, in Tuusula.
