to the United States
The President of the Republic will travel to the
United States on Thursday, April 22, 1999. While in
New York, he will attend the Statesman of the Decade
award ceremony for former Chancellor Helmut Kohl.
The following day, the President will meet UN
Secretary-General Kofi Annan.
While in Washington, he will attend the Summit of the
Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council held in conjunction
with the NATO summit.
Mrs Eeva Ahtisaari will join the President on the
trip.
The President and Mrs Ahtisaari will return to
Finland on Tuesday, April 27, 1999.
