The President of the United States telephoned the
President of the Republic on Friday afternoon to
express his thanks for President Ahtisaari's action.
The President and US Deputy Secretary of
State met in the Presidential Palace
The President of the Republic and US Deputy Secretary
of State Strobe Talbott met for talks in the
Presidential Palace on Friday afternoon. The
President informed his guest about his trip to
Belgrade, in addition to which further action was
also discussed.
The President will meet the Foreign Minister
of Norway
The President of the Republic will meet the Foreign
Minister of Norway, Knut Vollebaek in Mäntyniemi on
Friday at 20.00. Foreign Minister Vollebaek is also
Chairman of the Organization for Security and
Cooperation in Europe.
Juhani Kaskeala and Kari Rimpi will attend
the meeting between Nato and Yugoslavia
Rear Admiral Juhani Kaskeala and Brigadier Kari Rimpi
will attend the meeting between military
representatives of Nato and the Federal Republic of
Yugoslavia in the region on Saturday morning.
