Secretary of Defense William Cohen and Russian Defence
Minister Igor Sergeyev will arrive in Helsinki
US Secretary of Defense William Cohen and Russian
Defence Minister Igor Sergeyev will arrive in
Helsinki on Wednesday morning, June 16, 1999. The
President of the Republic will conduct bilateral
discussions with each of them and will entertain them
to lunch in the Presidential Palace. After lunch, the
Secretary of Defense and the Defence Minister will
start their talks in the Presidential Palace. If
necessary, the talks will be continued on Thursday.
Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov is expected to
arrive in Helsinki on Wednesday afternoon, and US
Secretary of State Madeleine Albright on Thursday
afternoon. Their schedules and programmes are still
to be finalized.
