presidentti on tänään lähettänyt Tansanian
entisen presidentin Julius Nyereren omaisille
seuraavan sisältöisen surunvalittelusähkeen:
"To the Family of His Excellency, Mwalimu Julius
Kambarage Nyerere and the People of Tanzania
It is with great regret I received the news of the
demise of His Excellency, Mwalimu Julius K. Nyerere.
I want to express on behalf of Finland and the
European Union my heartfelt condolences to the family
of Mwalimu Nyerere and the people of Tanzania on this
sad moment of their great loss.
Tanzania has lost its founding father, a great leader
and teacher, whose spiritual legacy will remain a
uniting force and source of inspiration and stability
in Tanzania.
Mwalimu Nyerere's advice was sought through decades
also in regional and international affairs. His
demise is a personal loss for me.
