President Niinistö meets with editors-in-chief of local newspapers

President of the Republic of Finland Sauli Niinistö met with editors-in-chief of local Finnish newspapers on 23 March 2023. The meeting at Mäntyniemi was attended by 30 editors-in-chief representing different parts of the country and the Paikallislehtien Päätoimittajayhdistys ry (Association of Editors-in-chief of Local Newspapers).

President Niinistö and the editors-in-chief discussed in particular current foreign and security policy issues

The Association of Editors-in-chief of Local Newspapers, founded in 1990, has 136 members. There are around 150 subscription local newspapers in Finland with a total of about 1.5 million readers.
