President of the Republic Sauli Niinistö and Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs John Baird met at Kultaranta in Naantali on 26 June 2014.
The topics of discussion between President Niinistö and Minister Baird included current foreign policy issues, particularly the Ukrainian crisis. Niinistö and Baird also discussed Arctic cooperation, in which the countries are engaged both through the Arctic Council and bilaterally. Canada is the current Chairman of the Arctic Council.
