President of the Republic of Finland Sauli Niinistö met with President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola on Tuesday 21 June 2022 in Kultaranta.
President Niinistö and President Metsola discussed the consequences of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, the economic outlook in Europe and energy-related questions. Both considered it important that support for Ukraine continues to be strong.
President Metsola visits Finland at the invitation of the Finnish Parliament. After the meeting with President Niinistö, she will meet Speaker of Parliament Matti Vanhanen, Chair of the Grand Committee Satu Hassi and representatives of the parliamentary groups.
