President of the Republic of Finland Sauli Niinistö received the Cross of Honour of the Association of Navy Veterans at Mäntyniemi on Thursday 2 March 2023.
The Cross of Honour was awarded for the President’s outstanding work for the country’s honorary citizens, Finnish war veterans and lottas.
The Navy Veterans (Laivaston veteraanit) is a voluntary association founded in 1963 to preserve naval traditions and maintain the spirit of national defence. Its members represent all categories of personnel who have served in the Finnish Navy.
