President of the Republic Sauli Niinistö and Mrs Jenni Haukio will be travelling to Norway on a state visit on 10–12 October 2012 at the invitation of King Harald V.
In addition to meeting the King and Queen, President Niinistö will be meeting Norwegian political leaders. He will also give a speech at the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs and attend a seminar on economic relations between Finland and Norway. Accompanying the President on the state visit there will be Erkki Tuomioja, Minister for Foreign Affairs; Alexander Stubb, Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Trade; and a delegation of corporate leaders.
The programme includes a visit to Tromsø, where the focus will be on Arctic research and cooperation.
