On Wednesday, 30 June 2021, President of the Republic of Finland Sauli Niinistö visited a Nordic Defence Cooperation (NORDEFCO) ministerial meeting in Tuusula.

During the visit, the President met the Defence Ministers of Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark, and the Foreign Minister of Iceland, and discussed with them, among other things, great power politics and the security situation in Northern Europe.

The two-day meeting focused on the progress of the work of Finland’s Chairmanship of NORDEFCO, the effects of the coronavirus crisis on military security of supply and the Arctic security situation. The meeting was hosted by Minister of Defence Antti Kaikkonen.
