President of the Republic and the Cabinet Committee on Foreign and Security Policy discussed the situation in Ukraine

On Wednesday 2 July 2014, the President of the Republic and the Cabinet Committee on Foreign and Security Policy discussed the current situation in Ukraine.

Finland supports President Poroshenko’s peace plan. Finland considers it important that all parties commit themselves to the plan. Finland urges all parties to take concrete measures to support the peace plan. The signing of the Association Agreements in connection with the European Council meeting on 27 June 2014 marked a significant step in the deepening of the EU-Ukraine, the EU-Moldova and the EU-Georgia relationships.

The Finnish Security Police informed the Cabinet Committee about the progress made in the investigation into the violation of data security in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
