President of the Republic of Finland Sauli Niinistö and his spouse Jenni Haukio attended the national Mother's Day ceremony at the House of the Estates on Sunday 8 May 2022. At the ceremony, decorations were awarded to 30 mothers recognised for their merits in raising children.
The First Class Medals with Gold Cross of the Order of the White Rose of Finland were presented to mothers who have made significant contributions to raising children and shown joint responsibility also outside their own family, as well as to mothers who have borne great responsibility for the members of their family needing special help.
