Master of Social Sciences Katri Makkonen has been appointed Director of Communications for the President of the Republic. Makkonen’s previous appointments include a number of positions within the state broadcasting company, Yleisradio, such as foreign correspondent, Far-East correspondent and, latterly, sub-editor for the current affairs programme, A-studio.
Makkonen will begin work in her new post on 5 August 2013
