President of the Republic Sauli Niinistö held a telephone conversation with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on August 20th 2018.
The President and the Chancellor mainly discussed the conflict in Ukraine and the Syrian war. They also covered the relationship between Europe, the United States and Russia.
The discussion was held on Finland’s initiative.
