President of the Republic Sauli Niinistö held a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko on Monday 8 June. This was a continuation of the Presidents’ talks in Aachen in May on the Ukrainian crisis and attempts to solve it.
The Presidents discussed the ceasefire breaches in Eastern Ukraine. Both Presidents considered it important that the implementation of the Minsk Agreement continue. The Presidents also discussed the role of the UN and the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe in solving the Ukrainian crisis.
