President of the Republic Sauli Niinistö will be participating in an unofficial meeting of European presidents in Wartburg and Erfurt, Germany on 21– 22 September 2015. The meeting’s working sessions include themes on strengthening cohesion within Europe as well as education and participation. The programme also includes a business dinner and bilateral meetings with heads of state.
The so-called Arraiolos Group’s meeting will be hosted by Federal President of Germany Joachim Gauck. The meeting will also be attended by presidents from Bulgaria, Italy, Austria, Latvia, Malta, Portugal, Poland, Slovenia, and Estonia. This group convened for the first time in 2003 in the location after which it was named – Arraiolos in Portugal. The meetings have been held annually.
