President of the Republic of Finland Sauli Niinistö had a phone call with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday, 11 March 2022.
The Presidents discussed the situation of the war in Ukraine and Finland’s support and aid for Ukraine. Particular themes were the need to secure a safe evacuation of civilians through humanitarian corridors and the safety of nuclear facilities. The Presidents agreed to continue their contact.
Later in the day, President Niinistö will have a telephone conversation with President of Russia Vladimir Putin.
