President of the Republic Sauli Niinistö will be in Brussels, Belgium, on 9-10 November. While in Brussels, the President will meet with senior figures such as Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary General of NATO, Martin Schulz, President of the European Parliament and Donald Tusk, President of the European Council.
In his meeting with Secretary General Stoltenberg, President Niinistö will discuss issues including European security, the development prospects of Finland’s NATO partnership and security in the Baltic Sea area. With Mr Schulz and Mr Tusk, President Niinistö intends to continue the discussion on security policy in relation to the European Union.
President Niinistö met with both Mr Schulz and Mr Tusk also during his previous visit to Brussels in January 2015.
