President of the Republic of Finland Sauli Niinistö will host a visit of President of the United States Joe Biden to Finland and a US-Nordic Leaders’ Summit in Helsinki on Thursday 13 July 2023.
The US-Nordic Summit will be attended by President Niinistö and President Biden as well as Prime Minister of Sweden Ulf Kristersson, Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gahr Støre, Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen and Prime Minister of Iceland Katrín Jakobsdóttir. The discussions taking place at the Presidential Palace will focus on closer cooperation between the Nordic countries and the United States on security, environment and technology issues.
“This is the third meeting between the leaders of the Nordic countries and the United States. The previous summits were held in Stockholm in 2013 and in Washington in 2016. It is a pleasure to continue our discussions this time in Helsinki”, says President Niinistö.
Before the Summit, President Niinistö will have a bilateral meeting with President Biden.
