President of the Republic Sauli Niinistö and Mrs. Jenni Haukio will visit Austria from 4 to 5 February at the invitation of Heinz Fischer, Federal President of the Republic of Austria. The reception ceremonies and official discussions between the presidents will be held on Friday 5 February in Vienna. Topics of discussion will include the current situation with respect to asylum seekers in Europe, security policy, Russia and the crisis in Ukraine as well as OSCE cooperation.
On the evening of Thursday 4 February, the presidential couples will attend the Vienna Opera Ball together. Austrian Federal Chancellor Werner Faymann and other members of the Austrian Government, as well as political and social leaders, will also be present.
