President of the Republic of Finland Sauli Niinistö will visit Kemi and Tornio on Wednesday, 6 April 2022.
The visit will begin at Syväkangas School, where President Niinistö will get acquainted with school’s activities and discuss the prevention of bullying with pupils and teachers.
After the school visit, President Niinistö will meet with representatives of the Town of Kemi at Kemi Snow Castle. Discussions will focus on current concerns in the region and tourism-related issues.
In the afternoon, President Niinistö will visit the Finnish-Swedish border in Tornio. Discussions with representatives of the City of Tornio and the Haparanda Municipality will focus on cross-border cooperation.
