President of India to make state visit to Finland

President of India, Pranab Mukherjee, will make a state visit to Finland on 14–16 October 2014. President of the Republic Sauli Niinistö will receive President Mukherjee at the Government Banquet Hall on Wednesday, 15 October. The topics to be covered in the presidential discussions will include bilateral relations between Finland and India, regional issues in Europe and Asia, and international issues such as the global economic outlook, cooperation between the BRICS countries, sustainable development and climate change.

In addition, President Mukherjee will visit the Finnish Parliament, hosted by Speaker Eero Heinäluoma, and meet Prime Minister Alexander Stubb, representatives of business life, as well as Indian community living in Finland.

President Mukherjee will continue from Helsinki to Rovaniemi, where he will visit the Arctic Centre.

President Mukherjee will be accompanied by his daughter, Sharmistha Mukherjee, and his entourage will include a high-level political and business delegation.
