President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė will be making an official visit to Finland on 18–19 October. President of the Republic Sauli Niinistö and his spouse Jenni Haukio will welcome President Grybauskaitė at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday, 18 October.
The topics of conversation include relations between Finland and Lithuania, security in the Baltic region, and relations with Russia. The presidents will also exchange views on topical EU and foreign policy issues, such as refugees and migration, integration of immigrants, the future of the EU, the situation in Turkey and the crisis in Syria.
President Grybauskaitė will also meet Maria Lohela, the Speaker of the Finnish Parliament, and Prime Minister Juha Sipilä. She will also be visiting Aalto University.
President Niinistö made a state visit to Lithuania in 2013.
