The news from Syria during the past few days has once again been devastating. In Eastern Ghouta, dozens of innocent victims have been killed in an apparent chemical attack. Finland strongly condemns the use of chemical weapons in all situations.
The persistent war in Syria has caused enormous human suffering. The latest development is also posing a serious threat to international peace. It is important for the parties involved to rapidly bring clarity to the weekend’s events. A negotiated solution is the only way for a permanent settlement of the conflict.
