President Halonen to attend the Ordinary Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe

President Halonen to attend the Ordinary Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

President Halonen will address the Parliamentary Assembly at 16.30 Finnish time, after which she will answer questions of the delegates of the 47 Member States of the Council of Europe. The session can be followed live on the website of the Council of Europe at http://assembly.coe.int/.

During her visit to Strasbourg, President Halonen will also meet Thorbjørn Jagland, the Secretary General of the Council of Europe; Jean-Claude Mignon, the President of the Parliamentary Assembly; Thomas Hammarberg, the CoE Commissioner for Human Rights; and the members of the Finnish delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly. President Halonen will also attend a ceremony forming a part of the International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
