President Halonen to visit the European Parliament

President of the Republic of Finland Tarja Halonen will visit the European Parliament in Strasbourg on Tuesday, 5 September 2006. President Halonen will address a plenary session of the European Parliament and hold discussions with the President of the European Parliament, Mr Josep Borrell Fontelles. In addition she will meet bilaterally with the President of the European Commission, Mr José Manuel Barroso.

In Strasbourg President Halonen will also visit the Council of Europe and give a speech at a reception.
