My warmest congratulations on your election as the 43rd President of the United States. I am pleased that a lengthy process has now been brought to a conclusion.

Relations between Finland and the United States are good and unproblematic. I am convinced that they will continue to develop positively during your Presidency.

I believe that relations between the European Union and the United States will likewise enjoy positive development under your Administration.

It is of crucial importance that the United States will continue to promote stability, democracy and prosperity globally.

I also express my will to meet you personally in either Helsinki or Washington D.C. in the near future.
