President Halonen to attend the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe

President of the Republic Tarja Halonen will travel to Strasbourg on 27-28 April 2009 to attend the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). President Halonen will address the Parliamentary Assembly on Tuesday, 28 April. During her stay she will meet with PACE President Lluis Maria de Puig and Council of Europe Secretary General Terry Davis.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of the Council of Europe. This year also marks the 20th anniversary of Finland's accession to the Council of Europe.
