President Halonen to attend ILO Summit in Geneva

President of the Republic Tarja Halonen will attend the ILO Summit in Geneva on 15 June 2009. President Halonen will address a special session on the effects of the economic crisis on employment.

The ILO Summit on the Global Jobs Crisis will take place on 15-17 June as part of the International Labour Conference that is arranged annually by the ILO. Several heads of state and government are expected to attend the summit, including President Nicolas Sarkozy of France and President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva of Brazil. Representatives of employers and workers from several countries as well as representatives of other international organizations will also participate in the Summit.
