President of the Republic Tarja Halonen will travel to Prague to attend the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council (EAPC) summit on 21-22 November 2002. She will head the Finnish delegation at the summit, which will also include Minister for Foreign Affairs Erkki Tuomioja and Minister of Defence Jan-Erik Enestam.
The EAPC is a joint cooperation forum for the members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and its Partnership for Peace programme. The most important issues at the summit will be the development of the Partnership for Peace programme and cooperation between the PfP countries and NATO to fight terrorism.
During her trip President Halonen will also attend a banquet hosted by Czech President Vaclav Havel and Mrs Dagmar Havlová.
