NATO Secretary General visits Finland

President of the Republic Tarja Halonen met NATO Secretary General Lord George Robertson on 30 January 2003. Topical questions of security policy were discussed at their meeting.

Lord Robertson, who is on a one-day visit to Finland, is also meeting Prime Minister Paavo Lipponen, Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja and Defence Minister Jan-Erik Enestam. The purpose of his visit is to familiarise himself with the Finnish defence system and conscript training.
