President Halonen to attend the Beijing Olympics

President of the Republic Tarja Halonen and Dr Pentti Arajärvi will travel to Beijing for the Olympic Games on 16-25 August 2008. President Halonen will watch Finns competing in different sports. She will also visit athletes in the Olympic Village and attend the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games.

President Halonen will travel again to Beijing in October, when she will participate in the Europe - Asia (ASEM) Summit and meet Chinese leaders.
