President Medvedev to make state visit to Finland

President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev will arrive in Finland for a two-day state visit on 20-21 April 2009. This is President Medvedev's first visit to Finland after his election to the presidency.

Reception ceremonies and official talks with President of the Republic Tarja Halonen will take place at the Presidential Palace on Monday, 20 April.

President Halonen and President Medvedev met in summer 2008 at the World Congress of Finno-Ugric Peoples in Khantia-Mansia, in which both participated. The Presidents have also spoken with each other on the phone on several occasions.
