President of the Republic of Benin visited Finland

The President of the Republic of Benin Boni Yayi with spouse made an official visit to Finland on 14–17 September 2010.

The reception ceremony and official talks with President of the Republic Tarja Halonen took place at the Presidential Palace on Wednesday, 15 September. President Boni Yayi also met Speaker of Parliament Sauli Niinistö and Prime Minister Mari Kiviniemi and laid a wreath at the Hietaniemi Cemetery.

During his visit President Boni Yayi familiarised himself with Finnish business life as well as met representatives of the Beninese community.

President Halonen made an official visit to Benin as part of her visit to four West African countries in March 2009.
