UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to visit Finland

Ban Ki-moon, Secretary General of the United Nations, will be visiting Finland at the invitation of President of the Republic Tarja Halonen. Mr. Ban will be arriving in Finland on Friday 15 July and will participate in a public discussion on sustainable development with President Halonen at the SuomiAreena. Over the weekend of 16–17 July, the Secretary General and Mrs. Ban will be hosted by the President at Kultaranta.

Mr. Ban was previously in Finland in his official capacity as General Secretary in May 2009. Before that, he had visited Finland as Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea in 2006.
