President Halonen to attend St. Petersburg International Economic Forum

President of the Republic Tarja Halonen will travel to St. Petersburg on 5 June 2009 to attend St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. During the visit, President Halonen will meet with President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev for bilateral talks.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is being held on 4-6 June. The most important theme of the forum this year is the global economic crisis. In addition to presidents of Finland and Russia, participants at the forum will include former Chancellor Gerhard Schröder of Germany and other political figures, business leaders and representatives of the academic world.
