President Halonen travelling to Strasbourg, Bosnia and Kosovo

President of the Republic Tarja Halonen will travel to Strasbourg for the opening of the European Roma and Travelers Forum on Wednesday, 15 December 2004.

From Strasbourg President Halonen will go to Bosnia and Kosovo on 15-16 December, where she will inspect crisis management and peacekeeping activities and meet Finnish peacekeepers serving in the region. In Pristina, the capital of Kosovo, she will also meet UN Special Representative Soren Jessen-Petersen and KFOR Commander Yves de Kermabon.

President Halonen will then travel directly from Pristina to Brussels for the European Council meeting. She will arrive in Strasbourg from St Petersburg, where she will meet President Putin on 14 December 2004.
