President Halonen to attend St. Petersburg International Economic Forum

President of the Republic Tarja Halonen will participate in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on Saturday, 18 June 2011.

President Halonen will be a panel member at the closing session of the Economic Forum, which will also be attended by Dmitry Medvedev, the President of Russia, Nursultan Nazarbayev, the President of Kazakhstan, and Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, the Prime Minister of Spain. The themes of the closing session are securing global economic growth and avoiding future crises.

President Halonen will also have a bilateral meeting with President Medvedev and hold official talks with him.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum will be arranged from 16 to 18 June. In addition to heads of state, the participants will include other high-level political and corporate leaders.
