President Halonen to attend International Conference on Financing for Development in Mexico and ILO World Commission meeting in Geneva

President of the Republic Tarja Halonen is going to Mexico for the International Conference on Financing for Development in Monterrey on 20-23 March 2002. She will make Finland's national address on Thursday 21 March.

From Mexico, the President will continue her journey to Geneva for the first meeting of the International Labour Organization's World Commission on the Social Dimension of Globalization. President Halonen and President Benjamin Mkapa of Tanzania co-chair the World Commission.

She is returning to Finland on 26 March.
