King of Jordan Abdullah II at working lunch with President Halonen

President of the Republic of Finland Tarja Halonen met King of Jordan Abdullah II and Queen Rania during their short visit to Finland at the Presidential Palace on 9 August 2006. During a working lunch, the heads of state discussed the difficult situation in the Middle East and the roles of the UN and the EU in the efforts in finding a peaceful resolution. The main concern in the discussions was how to achieve a cease-fire in the Middle East.

The Foreign Ministers of both countries were also present at the working lunch. After the discussions, the heads of state gave their statements to the press.
