President Halonen to attend Baltic Sea seminar in Stockholm

President of the Republic Tarja Halonen will travel to Stockholm on Thursday, 21 August 2003 to attend a seminar on the Baltic Sea arranged by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). The seminar will take place in connection with Stockholm's Baltic Sea Festival.

President Halonen will speak at the seminar on the subject of "The Baltic Sea region - from common heritage towards regional sustainable development". The seminar will also be attended by King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, former President Lennart Meri of Estonia and Prime Minister Göran Persson of Sweden as well as representatives of the business community, non-governmental organizations and research institutes.
