President Halonen to meet President Putin in St Petersburg

President of the Republic Tarja Halonen will meet President Vladimir Putin of Russia in St Petersburg on Tuesday, 13 June 2006.

The presidents will discuss bilateral relations between Finland and Russia, relations between the EU and Russia, the coming Finnish Presidency of the EU and current international issues.

President Halonen and President Putin will also attend the X International St Petersburg Economic Forum which will deal with timely issues concerning the Russian and international economy, such as globalization, competitiveness and energy supply.
