Pirjo Väänänen appointed special adviser

Master of Social Services Pirjo Väänänen, 37, has been appointed temporary special adviser to the President of the Republic. She will stand in for Sanna Viitanen, who is going on maternity leave. Ms Väänänen has previously worked as social policy adviser at the Central Organisation for Finnish Trade Unions. She started as special adviser on 1 January 2009.
