President Halonen to visit Qatar

President of the Republic Tarja Halonen and Dr Pentti Arajärvi will make an official visit to Qatar on 20-24 April 2007 at the invitation of Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khlaifa Al-Thani.

President Halonen will also attend the 7th Doha Forum on Democracy, Development and Free Trade, where she will be the key note speaker.

President Halonen’s party will include a Finnish business delegation, and discussions on Finnish-Qatar economic relations will be held during the visit.

The Emir of Qatar made a state visit to Finland in June 2002.
