President Halonen to visit India

President of the Republic Tarja Halonen and Dr Pentti Arajärvi are to travel to India for a working visit on January 20-24, 2007. During her stay President Halonen will meet the Indian President and Prime Minister.

President Halonen’s party will also include Minister of Trade and Industry Mauri Pekkarinen and a business delegation. Discussions on Finnish-Indian economic relations will be held during the visit. President Halonen will also attend the Delhi Sustainable Development Summit DSDS, where she will be among the speakers and take part in the panel discussion.

From Delhi President Halonen will fly to Davos in Switzerland to attend the World Economic Forum WEF. She will return to Finland on January 27.
