Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel to visit Finland

Victoria, Crown Princess of Sweden, and Prince Daniel will visit Finland on 31 October–3 November 2010. They will meet President of the Republic Tarja Halonen and Dr Pentti Arajärvi at Mäntyniemi, the official residence of the President, on Monday, 1 November. That same evening a banquet in honour of the visit of the Crown Princess and Prince Daniel will be held at the Presidential Palace.

The programme for Monday also includes a visit to the city of Lahti. Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel will visit the Tiirismaa upper secondary school, where they will familiarise themselves in particular with teaching of the Swedish language in Finland. The City of Lahti will host a luncheon at the Sibelius Hall, where works of young designers will be on display and the Lahti Symphony Orchestra will perform a short concert. The programme also includes a visit to Clean Energy Centre Energon.

On Tuesday, 2 November Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel will visit the Happi Youth Centre in Helsinki. The programme also includes a luncheon at the City Hall in Helsinki. In the afternoon Crown Princess Victoria will open a seminar on the future of Finnish-Swedish business at the Hanasaari Swedish-Finnish Cultural Centre.

Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel will return to Sweden on 3 November.
